Walk in the footsteps of Tam O'Shanter in "Alloway's auld haunted kirk" and across auld Brig O'Doon, where Tam's mare, Meg had her narrow escape from the witches.

Culzean Castle – 10 miles

Just 10 miles away like a storybook castle, this fantastic example of Robert Adam’s genius stands dramatically on a cliff, with panoramic views across the sea to the mountains of the Island of Arran.

Between 1777 and 1792, Adam converted an old fortified towercastle for David Kennedy, the 10th Earl of Cassillis, creating at Culzean (pronounced "Cullane"), possibly the finest Georgian castle in Scotland. Its Circular Saloon and Oval Staircase are acknowledged as Adam's final masterpiece.

Blair Drummond Safari Park – 71 miles

This fantastic Safari Park is a great day out for animal lovers and adventure seekers alike. A great opportunity to see some of the world’s most endangered species, as well as a variety of fun rides and excitement that’s suitable for the whole family.

Belleisle Golf Course – 2.5 miles

Enjoy a game of golf at nearby Belleisle Golf Course. Founded in 1927, this municipal course is the work of James Braid, and has hosted the Senior Scottish PGA Championship and various other professional tournaments. This classic parkland 18-hole course opens with back-to-back par fives. There are 2 par fours under 400 yards and a closing hole of 532 yards, incorporating a steep gully finish.

Heads of Ayr Farm Park – Next door to the Park

Adjacent to Craig Tara is Heads of Ayr Farm Park, packed full with exciting things to do. Take a tour in a Quad & Barrel ride or zip down the hill on a slippery Ringo sledge.
